This part is the replacement brushroll end cap (the one that is at the end of the brushroll on the cleaner head on your Dyson DC24).
These do tend to wear out and cause brushbar noise. We prefer to replace the brushroll at the same time if hoping to cure a noise. You can find the brushroll below.
