This is the red cyclone release clip to suit all versions of the following models:

DC40 (including DC40i and ERP)
DC42 (Canadian model – see notes below)
UP22 Light Ball Upright
UP24 Ball Animal 2 Upright
UP34

Please be certain this clip will fit your vacuum BEFORE you buy it by removing the cyclone bin, looking at the silver sticker on the chassis behind and making sure it says that the model is a DC40, DC42, UP22 or UP24 there. If it says anything else, this clip will NOT fit.

What we supply here is actually two slightly different clips together with a spring in case you lost that too (see the last photo). Some early DC40 models have a slightly different variant of the clip so we enclose both types to ensure compatibility with all DC40 models. Simply discard the one you don’t need.
